A painter, graphic artist, drafter, carpenter, and sculptor, Mitchell Augustus Walker is a kind, warm-hearted man whom loves to mesmerize passers by in parks and Seaports with his hypnotic sounds from his Didjeridu and Djembe.
I spoke to Mitchell this weekend in Balboa Park, San Diego. I asked him how long he had been playing the Didjeridu. Mitchell picked up the instrument nearly thirteen years ago; his inspiration: the movie, "Crocodile Dundee".
It's not just happenstance that Mitchell appears at Balboa Park. His appearance is a "permitted" event. He must obtain a monthly permit to enable him to appear at Balboa Park.
So the next time you see musicians playing in your local parks, give them support by donations and by "spreading the word!"
