The Northern Territory occupies much of the centre of the mainland continent, as well as the central northern regions. It shares a border with Western Australia, South Australia, and Queensland. It has a the smallest population of 215,000. The most significant part of the economy in this region is its nature and its National Parks, as well as mining. It has over 20 National Parks that are protected areas in the territory. The largest mountains in the territory are Mount Zeil, followed by Mount Sonder. National Parks include Elsey, Finke Gorge, Gregory, Djukbinj, Daly River, Barranyi Nth Island, Howard Springs and many more miraculous National Parks.
