only d3 t5 doesn't cut on sector boundary.
1-13-05: Many of the tracks on this source were improperly cut, so I
reassembled the show into one track, and decided to also deal with the
excessive brightness and the almost nonexistant bass. No modifications
were made other than to overall sound quality, dithering and retracking.
All tracks are now cut on sector boundaries. Existing skips and closed
dropouts/flips not modified (4:00 d1t1, 0:02 d1t8, 0:03 d2t7, 0:03 d2t8).

**No DAE at all**
Minor Edits: Fades in/out at cassette flip, as well as the start/end of set.
"Sbd/Aud mixes: The following shows were recorded to DAT from a separate
recording board at the shows. They are some of the highest quality
Phish tapes in existence: 4/22/90, 10/30/90, 10/31/90, 11/2/90,
11/3/90, 11/4/90, 3/13/91, 3/15/91, 3/16/91, 3/17/91, 3/22/91,
3/23/91, 4/5/92.
Except for the 4/5/92 tape, they have all been fairly widely circulated.
They were done on a large recording console (not EQ) and mixed completely
separately from the board mix, rumoredly done in a truck outside the venue. The engineer used 2 audience mics to mix in crowd/hall ambience (on most of them). See also, PA info."
Quoted from:
http://www.phish.net/PhishFAQ/tquality.html
Info From Kevin Shapiro: "11/3/90 and the other tapes of the era (10/30-11/4) were all done by Mike Grace through a separate 16 track mixer and run direct to 2 track DAT. He basically used the same setup in Spring 1991 too."

Patches from "Liberated Bootleg"
NOTES: This show has widely circulated as a "liberated bootleg" that sounds good,
but has many pitch problems and cuts. This source is from a cassette that generally
sounds at as good or better than the bootleg, and is of known lineage. Although the
cassette has marginally more tape hiss than the bootleg source, it's overall much
better sounding and doesn't contain cuts or speed problems.

Mastering notes
Set 1:
Tape flip between Rift and Fee patched from bootleg source.
Set 2:
1) Tape flip between Weekapaug and Horn patched from bootleg source. Pitch corrected patch source
(bootleg) -20 cents to match cassette
Editing was done using Adobe Audition 1.5. All files converted to 32 bit before
pitch correction. All digital processing done at highest quality settings. Transitions
between sources, and between pitch-corrected segments, were crossfaded briefly.
No cassette noise reduction was attempted, nor do I think it's necessary, but I left a few seconds of
pure tape hiss at the end of each set in case someone wants to try it in the future.

Art DI/O (48Khz, Input gain +12dB, No "Tube Warmth")>
Delta DIO 2496> WaveLab v4.0c> WAV (@24/48)> FLAC (24-bit, v1.1.0)
Transfer>24bit FLAC files by Weave - Weave@furthurnet.org on 4/1/2004
Thanks to Josh Porter for the source cassette.
Set 2 is from:
Source: SBD-> C0-> DAT->DAT Clone
Cassette mastered (by Bill H.) on an unknown "vintage 80s 3-head Nak deck (not a DR-1)" -> Maxell XL-II cassette -> Played back by a Nak DR1 deck -> Recorded to DAT on Sony R500 DAT w/SBM* (by Clay Ellwood) -> Cloned on Sony R500 + Tascam DA20 MKII @ 48KHz
Conversion:
Tascam DA-20 MkII-> Monster Coax-> M-Audio Audiophile 24/96-> Soundforge 5.0e (48KHz->44.1KHz at highest setting [4 of 4], with anti-alias filter)-> CD Wave 1.62-> mkwACT v0.97**No DAE at all**
Transferred by Dan Marquardt
**Mastering**
Set 1 and the end of set 2 were running slow/flat....since there was some overlap, bringing the material into tune with the rest of the show was easily done. The cuts were faded where necessary...The Fade out of the SBD/0 was matched exactly with the SBD/4, but then a cut happens shortly after...then the rest of the set finishes without incident. Sadly, the best part of Set 1 is missing...

@Levels (on analog tape) start hot and first 5 seconds distorted badly
#tape flip is the first cut, second cut was an 11 second mystery gap five seconds after the music started on Side B
*Langauge (3 "aw fuck" signals)
^Evil Ways (Santana) jam
+Sprockets and Chariots Of Fire theme in vocal jam
There is some distortion at points in this tape. I noticed it the most in Reba and Harry. Not sure what the cause of it is. The same distortion is on the analog tapes, which are peaking at +3, so your guess is as good as mine.
**Mastering**
The show was running slow/flat. This was corrected in Wavelab by shrinking the file to 94.5% of its original size. The sets were then re-tracked, and FLAC'd.
