From a distance of 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in) Fariborz (John) Haddadian (Sweden) extinguished 12 candles (measuring 20 cm (7.8 in) tall and standing 20 cm (7.8 in) apart on an 80 cm (2 ft 1 in) high stand) with just a 12 x 7 mm (0.4 x 0.2 in) thick and 1.1 m (3 ft 7 in) long chain, without touching the wax on the set of Guinness Rekord TV, Stockholm, Sweden, on 28 November 2001.
