Gordon Brittas has been appointed as the new manager of the Whitbury New Town Leisure Centre. On his first day, he arrives to find an efficiently run building, smiling staff and the builders just adding the finishing touches. The centre is not yet open to the public, which is just as well as within half an hour, the builders are on strike and most of the staff have walked out after Gordon's pep talk and his new work roster. One wires himself into the emergency lighting system, while another attacks Brittas ninja-style with sharpened table-tennis bats.
