John Carreck (Kenneth Del Vecchio), a Vietnam War hero and police officer, is attacked and left without sight, speech, or his hands, taking away all his means of communication. His wife (Daytime TV star Lisa Peluso) leaves him, and his mother (Eileen Fulton, 2004 Emmy Lifetime Achievement Winner) and doctor (Richard Barclay) have all but given up on him. It is only with the arrival of Sister Victoria (played by both Amy Redford and Julia Barnett), a young Catholic nun, that his life begins to turn around.
Along with the chalkboard, Sister Victoria also encourages Carreck to resume one of his loves in life, playing the drums, in order for him to restart a passion for living. With this renewed look on life, will Carreck continue on his mission to gain revenge on those who wronged him? Or will he follow the teachings of Sister Victoria, and let God bring his attackers to justice? "The Drum Beats Twice" is a mysterious drama with a shocking and unlikely ending that just might change everything or maybe not.
