I thought I challenged myself with Bedroom Sessions 6 - and looking back at it now, it was a walk in the park compared to this mix. Once again I focused on smooth transitions and doing it right. I learned a bit from Bedroom Sessions 6, and I've used some new techniques in Bedroom Sessions 7. Such things as using the EQ's more to do the cross fades etc. One thing you have to remember is that I'm not a professional...this is just a hobby for me. Something I do for kicks. And everything that you hear on this mix, I've worked out/taught myself.
Bedroom Sessions 7 follows the same format as #6. I've done a "slow" and a "fast" mix. CD1 is the slower, more chilled mix - but this is a little different to the last one. CD1 of this mix has a very dark and empathic undertone to it. It's almost sad and heart breaking. I've put a lot - and I mean *A LOT* of emotion into this mix...and the set kind of tells a story. Everything starts out happy, and it's going well, but then there is a heartbreak, followed by a sense of loneliness, as the set moves on...there's a feeling of wanting them back....but you can't have it. Then as you move on....you start to forget, and then they become a stranger...just another face in the crowd.
...But you never forget and there's always a part of you left behind.
It's definatly a deep & dark mix - and it won't be for everyone. But some of you out there might really get into it.
Then there's CD2 - now this is a bangin' mix. This is for those of you who feel emo after listening to CD1. CD2 is uplifting, melodic, energetic and really designed to get you in the mood. I've tried to do an even spread of male vs female vocals in disc 2. The set really starts to liven up around track 7 through till 10. And just like Above & Beyond at Godskitchen earlier this year at The Family...I finish off with What It Feels Like For A Girl. "
