A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten (1913-1976), a classic of 20th century music, was first conceived on board of an large ocean liner as the composer was returning from the USA to Great Britain in April 1942. He completed this work in 1943 and its premiere was at the famous Wigmore Hall in London on December 4th 1943. Recorded on this CD is the version with harp from 1955 and additional this CD includes 13 well known old european Christmas Carols.
