At a greeting card convention, Ben, Steve, and John are happy to have hooked up with three beautiful women. Enjoying their company, they ask the women up to their hotel rooms. Ben and Steve are unaware of the fate that awaits them. The delicious cocktails that Roz and Maureen make for them contain a knockout drug. This isn’t date rape, it’s date robbery, as the women empty their victims’ pockets and wallets for all they’re worth.
In John’s room however, the plan doesn’t go ahead as anticipated, and the tables are soon turned on Katie. John wasn’t the usual mark, and Katie is the one who ends up passed out on his bed. When she wakes up, John tells her that her nightmare is only beginning, as she finds out that one of her cohorts stole a ruby necklace from a victim one of them left to die. She doesn’t know whether Maureen or Roz is responsible, but the victim’s family knows it’s one of the girls, and will stop at nothing for two things: to recover the ruby necklace, and to exact revenge on the thief. Although John is drawn to Katie, he’s more drawn to saving his own skin by delivering the killer.
If there’s honor among thieves, Katie soon learns that it doesn’t exist when robbery turns to murder, in the suspense thriller from Tena Montoya, CRIMES AGAINST CHARLIE.
