The tribute show is based on the documentary/concert film of “The Band” and their farewell gig captured by Martin Scorsese at Winterland in San Francisco, Thanksgiving 1976. Guests from all periods of their career were invited to participate including Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, and Paul Butterfield. The concert was one of the most spectacular in rock history. This was the gig of “The Band's” life and one of the greatest in rock history.<br />
