This was recently uploaded by havrefras over at traders den & I thought I would
bring it over here for all you fans of early PJ. Thanks so much to havrefras for sharing
it in the first place...'thanks & praises'!! I changed nothing except adding some interesting
info about the show to the text file.

Anyhow, this is the show where Eddie dedicates "Even Flow" to Dee from L7(Demetra
"Dee" Plakas, the drummer) & changes a bunch of the lyrics to coincide with her lack
of a period for almost 2 months(see notes below). In other L7 menstrual cycle news, that
same Summer(on 8/30/92 at the Reading Festival) is the semi-famous incident where the band
experienced "technical difficulties with their audio equipment" & were forced to stall their set. Quickly,
the rowdy crowd grew restless & began throwing mud onto the stage. In protest, lead vocalist
Donita Sparks removed her tampon on-stage & threw it into the crowd yelling "Eat my
used tampon, fuckers!". Sparks has remained unapologetic about the incident. This has
been referred to as one of the "most unsanitary pieces of rock memorabilia in history."

But I digress...this Pearl Jam set is typically full of passion & fury from shows on that tour
& this fresh broadcast sounds utterly terrific.

The only drawbacks are that it has been edited down to 50 mins. to fit the BBC's timeslot
& therefore all the glorious in-between banter is missing(including the aforementiond
dedication of "Even Flow" & the encouraging of Eddie for people to record their shows.
Also, all the 'offensive words' have been pulled out of this mix(they were obviously
working with multi-tracks & just silenced the vocal at those points). This is a real, cryin'
shame as when Eddie was cursing on this tour, he really meant it!! This happens during "Why Go",
"Alive", "Porch" & probably elsewhere...would have been great to hear.

The plusses definitely outweigh those minusses, though, & this is one fantastic listen!! The set is also complete.

Maybe one day I'll take this mix & matrix it with an older version to speed correct
the other & get the banter & 'offensive language' back in there. For now, get on down!!
notes from this show:
1. other acts on the bill: Redd Kross, L7, Therapy?

2. headlining act: The Cult

3. #=dedicated to Dee from L7. The dedication went as follows:
"This band -- yeah, we'll play for a cause every once in a while if it's a good one. Well, this is one that's
gonna affect us all. Dee, the drummer from L7, has not had her period for almost two months -- she's a little
bit worried about it. So, we dedicate the song 'Even Flow' to her, to her menstrual cycle!"
----Lyrics are modified to:
"Feelin', rests her head on a pillow made of Tampax, again,
"Ooh, feelin', maybe she should've bled a few days (all the way??, on the bed??, all bet-ter??), ah yeah."
The rest of this verse is basically normal, but all the "he" words are changed to "she".
It's a little hard to make out exactly what Eddie says after 'few days'...those are some close guesses.

4. Ed encourages the crowd to tape shows.

5. **=hopping into the crowd, Eddie barely makes it back to the stage as security mistakes him for a
stagediver.

Jeff Ament - bass guitar
Stone Gossard - rhythm & lead guitar
Mike McCready - lead guitar
Eddie Vedder - vox
Dave Abbruzzese - drums
