This show is one of the weekly open jam sessions that takes place at The Waterhole. Hosted by Julius E. Green (of Otis Redding and The Platters fame) and his band, they encourage audience members to take up the instruments and play along with the band's setlists. On this night, several anonymous musicians took the stage. Instruments added include Bass, Drums, Trumpet, Guitar, Harmonica, and a guest singer. There were several breaks between playing, I count these as full sets.
The band features (among other artists) Ron Wright, the drummer from George Clinton's Parliament/Funkadelic.
I understand how unprofessional it is to record a concert with a frigging laptop. I am working with what I have to bring you the awesome sound of Amsterdam's current music scene. In my opinion this show is very listenable, but there is definitely a noticable difference from this recording and, say, a recording done with a pair of Oktavo MK-012's.
Thank you to SHNFamily for getting me interested in taping, and to Ron Wright (Funkadelic) for giving me permission to record!
