X Some words: X
X X
X “There’s a threat in the world today; a threat to our way of living X
X a threat to our society and maybe even a threat to our very X
X existence…”. Homophobia, misogyny, promiscuity, lack of morality, X
X racism, violence, materialism: gangsta rap. Although it had been X
X pronounced “dead” by one of its creators back in 1995, an album X
X released a year later, beginning with the words quoted above, X
X proved that the most notorious music genre was still alive. X
X Hundreds of hardcore rap LPs have been produced since then, several X
X of which were claimed to have the same “gangsta thang” going on. X
X Fans of the genre worldwide didn’t seem to agree. Even the same X
X group’s following works didn’t live up to the expectations and the X
X 1996 LP is considered by many the last trace of true gangsta rap. X
X Ten years later, an individual decided it’s time to bring some X
X gangsta flavor back in the underground. The goal was to catch the X
X original vibe from back then, reform and re-present it in a modern X
X package, as a tribute to gangsterism. And thus, “Bow Down” was X
X reborn. The threat is once again in the world... X
