ChillLive is a monthly electronica jam session that takes place at the Café Haag, Tübingen, Germany. Throughout the year 2009, every single session has been recorded on some old 4-track digital recorder. Best of 2009 is the revised mixdown of the best tracks that emerged live on stage.
The music created that way ranges from pop-alike pieces to very experimental ones. All types of instruments came to use: laptops with audio software, vintage analog synthesizers, electric guitars, midi guitars, FX-bloated bass guitars, and even a '62 Telefunken tape drive, just to name a few. Many people were involved in this collaborative enterprise.
Here's a complete list of people who played on Best of 2009: Benjamin Strohmaier (keys), Christoph Klinger (synths), Jens Maier (synths), Niels 'DrNI' Ott (synths, bass), Ramon Ziai (bass), Roland Jansen (mixing console, synths), Sonja Walker (synths), Thorsten Hans (git), Till Kopper (synths), Tobias Heide (perc, loops), Wolfgang Hillermann (midi-git, synths)
