Description: Left Where It Fell was produced, written and directed by Andrew P. Alderete, an MFA-3 at The California Institute of the Arts in Film/Video.
Inspired entirely by the music of Rachmaninov, the story pushes symbolic visuals and hyper-realistic imagery to fortify the connective tissue between characters, and raise questions about the fundamental basis of reality and the dark sides of human nature. It’s also a celebration of music, and its relationship with image. There is no dialogue, and uses the musical score and visuals to contextualize the story with specific emotion.
Left Where It Fell is a story of loss, and hope. It is a story of memory and the truth behind emotions we can’t define. It mixes fantasy with reality, and raises questions about our own mortality.
